Guida Moscow

Editorial

Moscow is the new and last Capital added to the Interni Guides circuit (design itineraries in Paris, New York, Valencia, Milan – FuoriSalone events, ZeeMilano sights – and in Turin 2008 World Design Capital), parts of the integrated publishing system of communication formed by Interni, Interni Annuals (Contract, Bath and Kitchen), Interni on Board (pleasure boating and design), Interni Panorama – The Design Magazine and a lot more. This first co-edition carried out by Interni International and Interni Russia, in partnership with ICE / Italian Institute for Foreign Trade and i Saloni WorldWide by Cosmit/Federlegno-Arredo, means a momentous occasion of dialogue and exchange with such an ever-developing and changing market as the Russian one. Moscow conveys to the European collective unconscious not just stories related to cultures of noble tradition, but now, most of all, a remarkable liveliness from the planning point of view, the scale of a meeting place, receptacle and propelling thrust for the whole Russia. So, after dealing with Italian fashion, the Red Square couldn’t help but face Italian design, with its virtuous circuit of products, projects, designers, companies and dealers. Showcases of Italian know-how that has developed a remarkable capability of penetration of a very faceted scenario supported by a young and gritty entrepreneurial class.

The structure of this Guide follows the same pattern as the previous ones: it informs about i Saloni WorldWide Moscow taking place within Crocus Expo 2, a generous event that this year gathers over 460 leading companies from the Italian furniture industry, and about the show Mebelissima Italia at the department store GUM: about 50 pieces of the best made in Italy production, which are the protagonists of the fascinating staging carried out by Studio Cerri & Associati / Pierluigi Cerri and Alessandro Colombo.
